The Avenger

As y'all know from my post about the Katz (see this post), I love all things shoes and Topshop and cutouts...especially Topshop shoes with cutouts. Like the Katz!

But sadly, they are sold out :( It has been a very somber, sad, dark time in my life because of  this.

And then I found these beauties just chillin' on the Topshop site! The Topshop Avenger boot!

Not only do they have the same basic design as the Katz-right down to the patent toe cap-but the chunky heel gives it an even edgier look which I love.

Here are some ways that I would style the Avenger boots. Night babes Xx.

A Bookish Summer

Every summer for the past number of years I have read the same books. No, seriously. I have reread the Twilight series during every summer holiday for the past 6 years. But this year will be different!

So I made a list. A list of books, varying from Leo Tolstoy to Yann Martel to Alexa Chung. All of the books on this list I have either: never read before, started to read but never finished, or read in high school and want to read without academic pressure.

As a way to motivate myself to actually read my way through this list, I will be posting a small book review every time I finish a book. Later babes Xx.

Fashion Inspo: Zoe Sugg

Even though I have mentioned a few different bloggers in my posts from time to time, I realized that I have written anything about who inspires me and influences my style. So I'm going to start doing monthly fashion inspos!

For most of June, my style has been really influenced by Zoe Sugg (also known as Zoella on YouTube).

What I love most about Zoe's style is that she can go from simple-casual to girly-chic to edgy and still look amazing every time! I mean, for so many people, they can only pull off one or two different types of looks. Some girls don't have the confidence for crop tops, some have the perfect legs for leather trousers, and others could be perfectly happy wearing dresses everyday of their life. So, in short, my favourite aspect of Zoe's sense of fashion is that she is so versatile in her day-to-day outfits.

How her style has been influencing me this past month or so is how she styles dresses. Personally, I have never been a huge fan of dresses. All throughout my teenage years, I would be constantly fidgeting or siting on the ground with my legs crossed or crouching down to pick up whatever it was that I dropped (that happens a lot more than you could even imagine), and wearing a dress quickly became a very awkward situation. But now that I've grown up, I've begun to realize that maybe wearing dresses and skirts would help me stop fidgeting by putting me in a position where it's just not an option. And I'm also learning how to crouch down without flashing anyone! Woot woot! Lady-like for the win!

For the summer I feel like dresses offer so many more options for warmer weather. And they also look so much more classy, chic and feminine than denim shorts, which is what I have been living in every summer of my life.

So I hope you enjoyed this little peek into what I consider when getting dressed in the morning. Night babes Xx.

Summer School

I had summer school this week. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. I did not fall any classes or mouth off to any of my professors. I actually voluntarily chose to take a summer class this year.

Since I attend a liberal arts university of a private nature, I have to fulfill certain core requirements before I'm able to apply for graduation (apparently that is a thing universities do). These core requirements include taking courses outside of my major. So whether you're a science, humanities, or human kinetics student, you will be taking an art class, a history class, and other specific amounts of classes from every faculty that my schools offers. That make sense?

So this summer I decided to get my most time consuming requirement out of the way: art.

Because it's the summer time, the school managed to fit the entire course into 5 days. 5 incredibly long days, mind you.

Being me, I decided to make every day at school a fashion contest for myself. I was always trying to keep my outfits comfy but chic, on trend but not over the top, casual but not too casual. Savvy?

So I thought that I would make a masterpost of all my outfits that I wore to school throughout the week.

And I will include a picture of my final project from my class at the bottom of this post. Enjoy :)
